july's little joys: fox wives, teyana taylor, french pop
what's inspiring and amazing me this month

July is already bringing so many good things to be joyful about, whether it’s freshly baked cookies or a cheeky coffee mug that starts your morning on the right note. Plus, we are all treated to the return of teyana taylor in an epic way. Let’s get to it.
little joys
The Fox Wife by Yangsze Choo is my latest favorite page-turner. I love dual narrators and the mysticism involved hooked me from the start.
This oatmeal chocolate chip cookie recipe is supremely easy and delicious. Not a lot of prep time required, and chilling the dough is optional. (I only popped mine in for an hour beforehand and they turned out perfect).
We are all blessed with the epic return of Teyana Taylor. I kept you inspired; I lent you my fire. You let me get tired.
I’m not sure who enjoys our weekly art projects more, me or my 4 year old daughter. We’ve made it a tradition to tackle one each weekend day while her sister naps. Our latest project was a total mess of paint, glue, and sprinkles—we had a blast.
French pop music is also the chosen soundtrack of our art extravaganzas. Get on board, mon cheri.
Every season is soup season, as far as I’m concerned. A cup of matzah ball soup will cure what ails you.
This coffee mug, which stems from this performance my friend Emma told me about, which I have watched approximately 100 times in amazement.
I’ve spent too long eating “healthified candy” (I’m looking at you, off-brand Swedish fish), and I think I’m done with that. Currently embracing a season of Starburst fave reds.
This peach crisp recipe was so good, it didn’t even require ice cream.
I’m not sure if theres anything cuter than tiny voices with tiny inflections. If I could bottle my 2-year-old’s voice I would. I know, logically, that her voice will change but what if it just didn’t? I love its muppety quality so, so much.
I’ve been watching Junior Bakeoff with my girls, and it’s so adorable and inspiring. (I could also never make a better biscuit or achieve that ‘perfect sponge’ like these 10 year olds!)
The Shark Whisperer is the documentary you didn’t know you needed.
Go watch the clouds with someone you love. There’s really nothing better.
Where are you finding little slices of joy lately? I would love to hear.
Love this so much
